Dining Room Refresh

Hello and welcome to my Dining Room Refresh blog post! My dining room had been a space in my home that I have never fully felt content with. Every time I would change it up I still felt like it wasn’t right. Well all that changed when I discovered Essentials For Living and their amazing furniture! Their dining chair selection is stunning, and so is the rest of their amazing line!

Alright before we get into the refresh lets take a look at how the dining room has transformed over the years. This is how it looked shortly after we moved into our home. Notice the table is a dark stain. That is what it looked like when I found it at a local thrift store for only $80!! It’s solid wood and has a great parquet design on top. It was a great score! Got to love that thrift store find high lol!! I also found that rug at the thrift store too. It was brand new! Chandelier, table runner

Sanding down this table and exposing the beautiful natural wood tone was one of the best decision I’ve ever made! It brightened up the entire space.

Once I changed the color of the table I decided to change out the rug and the chairs. Although I did like this look it just wasn’t practical. No one liked sitting on the settee and the bench wasn’t too popular either. One of the things that bugged me the most about this space was the chandelier. I loved the look of the chandelier, but I felt it was just not the right size for the space.

So I went on the hunt for the perfect chandelier and found it!! When I stumbled across this amazing Astoria chandelier from Hudson Lighting my heart skipped a beat!! I mean what is not to love! I was instantly drawn to the modern design of the chandelier and the brass finish. It has such a beautiful bright glow when it is on too. The scale fits the space so much better than my previous chandelier.

After finding my ideal chandelier I knew it was time to find the perfect chairs for the dining room. I searched for quite a while and never found any that really spoke to me. Then while I browsing the internet one night I stumbled upon these Lace Dining Chairs on Houzz and again my heart skipped a beat! I knew right away those were the dining chairs for me! The platinum rope detail is so unique I had never seen anything like it. I loved the idea of bringing in texture to the dining room with the chairs. I also changed out my previous rug with a new Honey Comb pattern one.

The platinum rope detail is not only beautiful but super comfy! The Lace Dining Chair also comes with removable light gray seat cushion for extra comfort. The legs have a stone wash mahogany finish and are so beautiful. All of Essentials For Living’s pieces are so well made and have quality wood and materials.

The Linen/Polyester seat cushion is not only comfy, but practical. You can remove it easily for cleaning and the fabric is great quality and a lovely neutral color.

When I discovered those gorgeous Lace Dining Chairs were from Essentials For Living, I immediately got onto their website. Houzz also has a wonderful selection of their furniture for great prices. While on there I found my perfect head chairs. I always like to have my head chairs different from my other dining chairs. I think it adds interest to the space. I just fell in love with Essentials For Living Welles Dining Chair in the Bisque French Linen color. It is truly the perfect neutral! Pair that with the Stone Wash Oak legs and wing back design and you have the perfect dining chair!  This chair also comes in a counter stool and barstool as well. Every detail is perfection!

I like to put pillows on my head chairs. This is a great way to add color or pattern into the space. I also like to change my pillows out with each season. For Fall I added these Plaid Pillows from Serena and Lily. I think they look perfect on my Welles Dining Chairs. Table Runner

I reached out to Essentials For Living to see if they would like to partner on my dining room refresh, and Anna, the V.P. of Design and Merchandising, got back to me. She graciously invited me to visit their gorgeous showroom, that is open to interior designers, and to tour their facility. Of course I immediately said yes! Anna has grown up in the furniture business and is now in charge of designing the pieces. The Johnson family has owned and operated Essentials For Living for over 40 years. They were formerly Star International Furniture and Orient Express Furniture and recently combined their brands to Essentials For Living.  While touring the showroom I was so impressed with the quality and design of their furniture pieces. I honestly wanted to take every piece home and redesign my entire home! Everyone at Essentials For Living was so kind and professional. It is a well ran business and it shows through their products.

Essentials For Living’s warehouse was huge! It looked like it went on for miles! One thing that stood out to me though was how clean and organized it was! Everyone in the warehouse was so helpful and professional. Essentials For Living has two warehouses. One on the West Coast and one on the East Coast so they can ship to their suppliers quickly.

Ok so while looking through Essentials For Living’s website I also discovered these Loom Counter Stools. My previous stools I had in my kitchen were bar height and were too tall for my counter. I had been looking for replacements for a while. Of course when I saw the Loom Counter Stools I knew I needed them! Again you see the unique Platinum Rope detail, light gray fabric and stone wash mahogany legs. The Counter Stools are extremely sturdy since they have an aluminum frame and solid mahogany legs. The Loom line comes in three different colors and in different sizes.

The Loom Counter Stool comes with a fixed upholstered seat that wipes clean easily. Trust me I know this since I have three kids!! Everyone who has come to my house since getting these stools has commented on them. Not only do they comment on how beautiful they are, but they also comment on how comfortable they are!

The Loom Counter Stools are just so pretty to look at!! I feel like this is what my kitchen has been missing! My kids love the height too. They are the perfect seating height for a kitchen island. Essentials For Living’s attention to detail is what sets them apart from other furniture manufacturers.

Right now I have my dining room all dressed up for Fall. I can’t wait to dress it up for Christmas! Since the Lace Dining Chairs and Welles Dining Chairs are such great neutral colors, it makes it easy to change up this space and add different decor accessories.

Another little Fall Decor set up. Rug, Similar Sign

My dining room has never looked so good!! I just love this space now! What was once a room that I didn’t really enjoy looking at or spending time in, has become my favorite space in my home! My Astoria Chandelier and Essentials For Living’s dining chairs complement each other so well.

I am now ready to host dinner parties and holidays in my dining room!

I love that I don’t need to “dress” up table anymore. The gorgeous dining chairs and chandelier steal the show! I can now keep my dining table simple and clean.

Thank you for taking the time to read my Dining Room Refresh blog post! A special thank you to Essentials For Living and Hudson Valley Lighting for partnering with me on the refresh! Please feel free to leave comments and questions below and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a post!
