Lily Jade Giveaway
Hello!! Thanks for stopping by! I have a fun blog post today that I’m sharing with you. It’s all about my latest fashion obsession the Rosie hand bag/ diaper bag from Lily Jade. Not only will I be reviewing the handbag but you can also win a Lily Jade handbag!! All you have to do is enter here. Now if you follow me on my Instagram account, then you know how excited I was when I received this gorgeous bag! I had heard such wonderful things about Lily Jade bags, and couldn’t wait to try one out for myself. In this post I will share all deets on the Rosie and show you how to convert it to a backpack. There is even a quick video tutorial at the end.
The first thing I noticed about the Lily Jade Rosie bag, well beside the yummy soft Camel colored leather, was the big pockets on the front and back of the hand bag! I love big pockets and I can not lie lol! I always look for bags with ample storage for things like my cell phone, sunglasses, kids snacks etc. Well let me tell you the Rosie delivers in the pocket/storage department!
This is the large front pocket with an extra strong zipper. Zippers are also high on my priority list when looking for a new hand bag. I need a strong good quality zipper that will stand the test of time! I keep my cell phone and sunglasses in the front pocket for easy access. I also really love the gorgeous jade color lining. It just gives the bag a little something extra I think.
This is the pocket on the back side of the Rosie. It is the same size as the front pocket. I think this is genius idea. Lots of times my handbags will only have one pocket on the exterior, or if it has two one will be large and one will be small. I appreciate the fact that the designers of the Rosie put two equally large pockets on the exterior.
Now if you weren’t already impressed with the storage capability of the Rosie, let me take you inside! Again you see that beautiful jade colored lining and hefty zipper. You have one deep pocket with a zipper and two additional pockets. The deep zipper pocket is perfect to hold my lipstick, dental floss, aspirin and hand sanitizer. I usually keep Kleenex and an extra pair of sunglasses in the other two pockets. I think it’s awesome that the Rosie has a place for everything. It really helps me to stay organized. Don’t forget to enter here to win one of your own!
The cool thing about Lily Jade bags is that most of them come with this functional removable 12 pocket carrier/organizer. At first I thought I wouldn’t really use it because I am beyond the diaper bag stage, but I tried it out just to see if it would be useful for me, and it was! I put my laptop, wallet, kids juice boxes, water bottle, sunscreen and some snacks in it! I have been using it for my kids soccer games. I just pull out the organizer and it has all I need while I watch my kids play! I so wish I had a Lily Jade bag when my kids were babies. This would have been such a game changer, but even though my kids are past that stage, Lily Jade bags still work for any stage of life you’re in.
The removable organizer fits perfectly inside the Rosie.
When my kids don’t have soccer practice or a game I don’t use the the organizer. It’s nice that you can use it when you want and store it away when you don’t want to use it. Even without the organizer the purse still holds a ton! I have my wallet, a small pouch, planner, books and I usually have reusable grocery bags in there too! So much room!
Ok on to the fun part and the main reason I bought the Lily Jade Rosie handbag. The versatility of the the straps! In the past I have tried to carry a backpack purse. I was drawn to the idea of being able to have my hands and arms free as I scooted down the aisles of my favorite stores. At times my shoulder purses cause me to have pain in my shoulder when I have to carry my very full bag for long periods of time. So I tried out a backpack purse for a month and just didn’t like it! I didn’t like that I could never carry it as a shoulder bag, so I just gave up on the idea of me ever using a backpack purse….that was until I discovered Lily Jade! This bag gives you the best of both worlds. It can be a shoulder bag or backpack!
The Rosie can even be carried as a messenger/ cross body bag as you see here. It’s the perfect trifecta!
I seriously don’t know how I lived before I had this bag lol! I love being able to switch from shoulder bag to backpack and vice versa. It’s just so convenient. This is just the smartest idea ever. This is also why I believe the designers at Lily Jade are geniuses! I like to wear the bag as a backpack when I have my kids and need to be able to wrangle them, or need my youngest to sit in the cart and have no room to put my bag. Lately I find myself wearing it as a backpack more and more.
Now the first time you convert your Lily Jade bag into a backpack it can be tricky, but don’t worry I’m going to walk you through it. When you first get your Lily Jade bag the strap looks like this.
The first thing you will do is elongate the strap. I elongated mine fully. I like the straps on my backpack to have a little room, especially with fall right around the corner which means I’ll be wearing jackets and bulky sweaters.
Continue to pull the strap through until it’s completely elongated.
Once elongated it will look like this. You will have the swivel clips on each end.
Next you take the elongated strap and fold it in half, making a loop at the top. Try to have your strap ends as even as possible.
Take the folded strap and push it through the top of the backpack upper ring.
Once you have the strap through the backpack ring you take the two swivel hooks, that should still be even, and pull them through the loop that you made when you folded the strap in half. Be sure to hold your two ends together so that they don’t become uneven, otherwise you will have uneven straps. If this happens don’t worry just take the strap out and fold it half again so they are even and start over.
Next you will pull the two straps so that the loop moves up to the backpack ring like so.
Once you have done this you see that the leather at the top is twisted bit. Just take the top piece and fold it over so that it can cover the backpack ring.
This is what it should look like once you have untwisted it.
Finish pushing the cover piece until you like how it looks. I like it to cover the backpack ring completely. Doesn’t this look so good!
Attach each swivel hook to the hooks at the bottom of the bag, and voila’ you have yourself a backpack!! Once you have done this a couple times you will be a master! I don’t take my backpack straps off, I just leave them on and use it as shoulder bag when I want. The nice thing is you don’t see the straps hanging when you wear it as a shoulder bag. I made a quick video showing how I convert the Rosie into a back pack. Click the link below to view.
